ShowSeason Grime Time - A Miracle in a Jar!

At Transformation Pet Center in Tucson, we consider the products we use as part of our formula for achieving exceptional results.  They are our "liquid tools".  Recently we discovered a new shampoo product for filthy feet and grimy or greasy coats.  Here's what happened:

"It's a miracle!" exclaimed Yvonne, my bather.  She was bathing PeeWee, an adorable Maltese that comes for grooming every three weeks.  PeeWee is always dark with dirt.  By his looks you would imagine that he must play in the fireplace.  Not so, says his owner.  This deep dirt comes from the back yard and walking on asphalt, in a neighborhood with no sidewalks.

The miracle my bather was declaring was from a new product by ShowSeason, Grime Time, a concentrated shampoo in a jar.

PeeWee has always been a cleaning challenge; in the past we've used a combination of a dirty dog shampoo, a concentrated whitener, and thick degreasing products, also in a jar.  Yes, it has taken three baths to get this little guy acceptably clean in the past.  With the Grime Time, however, the results were immediately visible and required only one application.

Grime Time has also given us our best-ever results on cleaning the very dirty feet on a Bearded Collie where we had nearly given up on ever achieving truly white feet. Problem solved! In a few short weeks of use, Grime Time has become a product we don't want to ever be without.  Filthy feet are common here in Tucson, where dogs are often walking on asphalt or hiking in the desert. Another important application is in removing the gunk that accumulates on Cocker ears.  Grime Time melts it away!


ShowSeason has placed the ingredients for this product on the label.  It is a simple mixture of Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Fragrance, Sunflower triglycerides, and preservative.  The product is a gel that turns solid when cold, much like Pure Pet D'Grease, which we have used for years.  Are we uncomfortable using a product that is a concentrated SLS, an ingredient that is targeted by fear mongering marketers as one to avoid?  Not at all.  There is a place for everything.  As professional groomers, our grooming products are our tools.  There are times when we want the most gentle cleaning possible, such as on a fragile or damaged coat, or where there is irritated and broken skin. Other times we want a cleaner that will remove deeply imbedded dirt that is not lifted by the milder detergent.  Grime Time gets out the dirt without irritating the skin or damaging the coat.
