BASIC COCKAPOO STYLE PET GROOM

Here is another sample of grooming from this past week. Mr. Bear is a mixed breed of the type we usually refer to as the "cockapoo". There may or may not actually be any poodle in there, but there is most likely some black cocker.

Mr. Bear was bathed and conditioned and allowed to cage dry nearly all the way under fans. The fact that this coat does not curl makes me question the "poo" part of the "cockapoo" designation. We have done several variations on this particular style. This time I used a #3 3/4 blade on the body and scissored the legs. I used a #4 blade on the crown of the head. The feet were scissored with a 5.5" Arius-Eickert curved scissor, the legs and undercarriage with 9" Talyn shears. The face and head were finished with an AE Synergy Blender. The blender allows me to achieve a nice finish without a scissored look. I also used the blender here and there on the body and legs where the clipper or scissor work was not quite right. A good blender is great to have!

The total table time for this groom was a little over 20 minutes. A coat and style like this does not need a lot of finishing work. In fact, I don't like it to look over worked. This should be a natural looking result.

Arius Eickert shears like those used in this groom can be viewed and purchased at http://www.bbird.biz. Thank you for your support.
