Grooming the pet Poodle can sometimes lead to flights of imagination. We like to create custom styles that fit the dog. Sometimes this means finding a way to make a less attractive feature into something unique and cute. Meet "Cookie". She has these ears that stick straight out. Sometimes we call this the "Flying Nun" look. Some time ago our imagination led us to create balls out of the ears, and, voila!, we now have the "Princess Leia" style for our darling Cookie. She seems to like posing with her special look. More recently, Cookie had dental work and shaved areas on both front legs. We again got creative and put bracelets around the ankles. Princess Leia got puffs! It's such a hit that we've kept this extra feature. The ankle puffs fit with the ears. Gotta love it!
Cookie was clipped with an Andis 4 1/2 blade, body and legs. The puffs and ears were defined with the little "Detailer" scissor available from the BBird shopping cart, here. Puffs on ankles and the ears were made more scissorable with a spray called Ruff Coat from Showseason Grooming Products that is dried into the coat. Another important tool in detailing the tiny puffs and making the ears round was a 5 1/2" curved scissor, called The Detailer, available from the BBird Shopping Cart, click HERE.

We have a ponaranium poodle and I can say it takes true artist to groom our pets. When we get Him back from the groomers we sometimes don't recognize our Pet. The different looks that our groomer gives our Poodle is just amazing.
