GROOM CLASSROOM announces the first of a series of web-based seminars for groomers. Canine Hair & Coat Damage: A Close-up View, will be broadcast on Thursday, October 27, at 4:00 pm Mountain Standard Time, and again on Sunday, November 6, at 1 pm Mountain Standard Time. Featuring a series of compelling images and science-based information, the 90-minute webinar promises that attendees will:
- Learn about the structure and biology of canine hair.
- Identify the factors that negatively impact hair.
- Understand how coat damage occurs and how it shows up for the groomer.
- Learn how to maintain a healthy coat and minimize damage.
- Distinguish various coat conditioning and treatment options for specific coat problems.
- Discuss the implications of your learning with a veteran groomer with 40 years experience.
Barbara Bird, award-winning journalist, speaker, and educator to the grooming industry, presents the Canine Hair & Coat Damage webinar. BBird has been a popular speaker at Atlanta Pet Fair, All American Grooming Show, as well as international venues, and is known for her entertaining and informative style. Most recently she was recipient of the Barkleigh Honors Award for Blog of the Year 2011.
GROOM CLASSROOM was founded by BBird in 2003 to provide web-based extended education learning to pet groomers. The current webinar series has emerged with the intention of offering top quality speakers and extended education to groomers who cannot travel to trade shows to attend seminars. In addition to BBird, webinars are planned with Daryl Conner, Dawn Omboy, Mary Oquendo, and others. Future webinars will also offer live grooming demonstrations as well as information-based content.
