About the author:
I've been grooming since the Dark Ages. It was my second career, after burning out in the field of mental health. Applying emotional band aids wasn't all that healthy FOR ME, and I needed something more tangible, less drama-laden. Pet grooming was a better fit, and I filed away my academic side. I never imagined that I would find another use for my old research skills and writing ability. Life has a way of bringing one back around to what is supposed to be, and I now have a third career in writing for groomers. Being awarded the Cardinal Crystal Achievement Award for Grooming Journalist of the Year 2006 was a high point of my life. Period. 'Nuff said!

My dedication to understanding pet products began as a curiosity that sort of took hold of me and has become something of an obsession. Once I realized that I was beginning to truly understand what was in the bottle, writing about it became something of a responsibility, an obligation. Beyond Suds & Scent is a work in progress. A new edition will be forthcoming in 2008, bringing new depth of information and an exploration of styling products. Stay tuned, I'm not finished yet, I may never be finished with this subject.
